I don't have a job

I've been out of work, it's been two years now, I feel so helpless....

Have you been struggling with this problem? Are you feeling that you've tried everything and can't seem to get anywhere?

Sometimes, having someone to talk to who is not "too close to the problem" might help you see some solutions that you otherwise would not have considered. Or, it might help just to have someone with whom you can honestly, anonymously and safely express feelings that you thought were "unacceptable" such as shame, disappointment, panic and fear, or regret. When that happens, you have taken the first step in truly helping yourself.

For free, anonymous and confidential telephone counseling that is non-sectarian and non-judgmental, call Crisis Line at 893-7606 or 893-7603, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. There is help at the end of the line.

They're out to get me

People are watching me, waiting for a chance to embarrass or hurt me. Everyone is banding together against me....

Do you feel like that most of the time?

Your feelings of persecution could be perfectly understandable, a natural result of some truly stressful situation.

Or, it could be related to paranoia. In popular culture, the term paranoia is usually used to describe excessive concern about one's own well-being. Sometimes, paranoia suggests a person who believes he or she is being persecuted and that there is a threat to themselves or their property. Paraonia is also often linked to a belief in conspiracy theories. *

Will it help if you talk about this with someone in a setting where you feel safe? For free, anonymous and confidential telephone counseling that is non-sectarian and non-judgmental, call 893-7606 or 893-7603, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Ask for Crisis Line, where there is help at the end of the line.

I'm pregnant

I'm pregnant, and it's unplanned. And I thought I knew when it is safe to have intimate relations....

Sounds familiar?

If you are female and living in the Philippines, your situation is more common than not. The fact is, allmost three-fourths of women in the Philippines are like you when it comes to knowing when it is "safe." That's three out of every four women who, like you, can get pregnant unintentionally!

"...only 27% of women correctly identify the fertile period to be halfway between two menstrual periods. Forty-one percent of women incorrectly identifed the fertile period to be right after a woman's period has ended. Furthermore, 15% of women have no knowledge of the fertile period." *

Will it help if you talk to someone about this in a setting where you feel safe? For free, anonymous and confidential telephone counseling that is non-sectarian and non-judgemental, call 893-7606 or 893-7603, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Ask for Crisis Line, where there is help at the end of the line.
